Step-by-Step Guide Check in with the Mobile App Check in with the VQR Code Need to Check In Your Vehicle with our Mobile App? Common Questions How does the touchless check in process work? What are open items during inspection? Do I need to wait in line or use paper tickets? Will I receive proof that my inspection was completed?

The touchless check-in process utilizes the RyderGyde Kiosk to provide a smooth vehicle check-in experience. When you arrive, you can easily find the Kiosk tablet stand in the shop, follow the prompts, and have your vehicle registered and assigned a parking spot without the hassle of waiting in line or handling paper tickets.

For Drivers

Step-by-Step Guide

For a checklist for checking in your vehicle using the Kiosk, follow the steps:

  1. The Kiosk is located in the shop, and you can begin the check-in process by selecting your language first.
  2. Input the vehicle's identifying information, such as the Ryder unit number or VIN.
  3. Once the vehicle page opens, verify the unit information for accuracy. The odometer reading is optional. If the unit’s telematics system is connected to Ryder, the odometer reading will populate automatically. Select CONFIRM to continue.
  4. If checking in a tractor and a trailer, you must start a separate drop-off for the trailer.
  5. If there is an existing appointment or a PM service is due for the vehicle, you will be prompted to answer Yes/No and have it done during this visit.
  6. If there are open defects, you will see a Service Summary page displaying the defects identified in a pre- or post-trip eDVIR through a connected telematics system or RyderGyde. You can also add new repair requests as needed.
  7. To add additional repair requests, select ADD DEFECT / Service. The page will show top issues, and you can search for items that are not on the list. Next, proceed.
  8. Select whether you are dropping off the vehicle or waiting on-site. If dropping it off, you will be prompted to request a pickup date and time.
  9. Enter your contact information and select COMPLETE CHECK-IN. A QR code is then displayed; scan to track the vehicle while it is in the shop. The shop receives the check-in and sends you a confirmation.

Tip: Don't forget to drop off your keys!

Common Questions

How does the touchless check in process work?

When you arrive at the shop, open the RyderGyde mobile app and follow the on-screen prompts to register your vehicle, complete the inspection, and receive confirmation, all without interacting with a physical kiosk.

What are open items during inspection?

Open Items are defects previously noted on a pre-trip or post-trip eDVIR. These items are displayed during the inspection and can be deferred if appropriate.

Do I need to wait in line or use paper tickets?

No. The new touchless check-in feature eliminates the need to wait in line or handle paper tickets by allowing you to complete check-in entirely through the mobile app.

Will I receive proof that my inspection was completed?

Yes. A confirmation message is displayed once the inspection is submitted, and additional documentation may be sent via email or app notifications.
