Step-By-Step Guide Using the Mobile App Using the Kiosk Using the Ryder Truck VQR Code Common Questions How does the touchless check-in process work? What are open items during inspection? Do I need to wait in line or use paper tickets? Will I receive proof that my inspection was completed?

The touchless check-in process utilizes the RyderGyde™ mobile app, kiosk, and VQR to provide a smooth vehicle check-in experience. When users arrive, they can easily open the app, follow the prompts, and have their vehicle registered and assigned a parking spot without the hassle of waiting in line or handling paper tickets.

For Drivers

Step-By-Step Guide

For a checklist for checking in your vehicle, follow the steps:

Using the Mobile App

  1. Launch the RyderGyde™ mobile app and select check-in.
  2. Input the vehicle's identifying information or scan the barcode on the vehicle.
  3. Please verify the accuracy of the information once the vehicle is located.
  4. Respond to the questions and provide the power unit's odometer reading. When entering a power unit reading, if the unit is a tractor, the trailer prompt will appear.
  5. If there are any outstanding items, please assess whether they remain a concern. Tap Next Step to proceed.
  6. Go through the vehicle inspection items and categories, selecting the relevant ones. Open Items signifies the defects noted on a Pre/Post-trip eDVIR. Defer open items here. Defects noted on an integrated Telematics Service Provider’s Pre/Post-trip eDVIR will appear in the Open Items tab. If Yes was selected for additional defects noted, the Driver will go through the categories to add defects not noted in Open Items. If Yes was selected for having a trailer, the driver will be prompted to the Trailer category. Tap Next Step to proceed.
  7. If there is an existing appointment for the vehicle, the Driver will be prompted to answer Yes/No. Tap Complete Inspection.
  8. Confirm or enter the correct contact information, tap Yes/No regarding waiting on-site, then tap Next Step. The Driver receives a reminder to call the shop for next steps and drop off keys. The shop receives the check-in and sends an alert back to the driver.

Using the Kiosk

  1. Walk into the shop and begin the check-in process from the Kiosk by selecting your language first.
  2. Input the vehicle's identifying information or scan the barcode on the vehicle.
  3. Once you locate the vehicle, please verify the accuracy of the information.
3. Input the vehicle's identifying information or scan the barcode on the vehicle.
  4. Please verify the accuracy of the information once the vehicle is located.
  5. Respond to the questions and provide the power unit's odometer reading. When entering a power unit reading, if the unit is a tractor, the trailer prompt will appear.

Common Questions

How does the touchless check-in process work?

When you arrive at the shop, open the RyderGyde™ mobile app and follow the on-screen prompts to register your vehicle, complete the inspection, and receive confirmation—all without interacting with a physical kiosk.

What are open items during inspection?

Open Items are defects previously noted on a pre-trip or post-trip eDVIR. These items are displayed during the inspection and can be deferred if appropriate.

Do I need to wait in line or use paper tickets?

No. The new touchless check-in feature eliminates the need to wait in line or handle paper tickets by allowing you to complete check-in entirely through the mobile app.

Will I receive proof that my inspection was completed?

Yes. A confirmation message is displayed once the inspection is submitted, and additional documentation may be sent via email or app notifications.
