This article provides an overview on how to integrate eDVIR with your telematics provider.

Why Integrate eDVIR?

  • Integration Flexibility: Ryder integrates with all leading eDVIR systems.
  • Automated Defect Reporting: eDVIR integrates directly with Ryder's shop system, eliminating double entry of issues.
  • Stay DOT Compliant: Repair dispositions are synced back to your eDVIR system to stay DOT compliant.

Connect your eDVIR System

To get started, connect your eDVIR system so Ryder can test the integration and verify your assets. Once the connection is confirmed, have a driver complete and submit a test inspection to ensure inspection data is flowing correctly. After successful testing, you can proceed with rolling out the solution across your fleet.

Common Questions

What do my drivers need to do differently?

Drivers should continue to submit pre- and post-trip inspections and be sure to complete the check-in process at the shop.

Does Ryder automatically schedule an appointment to service vehicles with defects?

No, customers must schedule/bring vehicles in for service.

Will eDVIR defects always be resolved by Ryder?

Not always. Cases in which Ryder will not resolve eDVIR defects include:

  • The next driver inspection determines that there is no issue, which resolves the defect before the vehicle is brought in for service.
  • The vehicle is not taken to the Ryder shop to service, and repair is coordinated by the customer.
  • The technician determines that no repairs are necessary.

What if the defect is not resolved by Ryder before the driver picks up the vehicle?

Some repairs may not update your DVIR system before the next driver conducts the inspection.

Do we need to modify our defect categories?

No, Ryder will work with your existing defect categories.

Does Ryder monitor defects before the vehicle is checked in to the shop?

No, the shop will review defects as they are servicing the vehicle.

Are eDVIR defects reflective of all repairs made in the shop?

No, the shop may address more safety-related issues than are recorded in the defects, and sometimes defects are recorded when no repair is actually needed.

When will defects be available on Ryder systems?

Defects are available on Ryder systems within 15 minutes of being reported.

Will drivers need to record defects again if they use the shop kiosk or RyderGyde app to drop off a vehicle for service?

No, drivers can review existing defects to make it easier to drop off a vehicle for service.

When will repair information be available in my TSP?

Within minutes of the repair order task being completed, repair information will be visible from your telematics portal.

What happens if the same defect is reported multiple times for the same vehicle?

Ryder will disposition duplicate defects for the same vehicle together.

What repair details can I expect?

Ryder will provide the date of the repair, the repair order number, and the ID of the Technician who completed the repair.
