This article covers how to set up Fleet Sync and/or integrate eDVIR for Motive customers. When completing the setup, please indicate if you will be activating eDVIR or not.
What is Fleet Sync?
Fleet Sync is a free Ryder service that connects data from your telematics provider with Ryder systems and RyderGyde.
By securely sharing vehicle data such as mileage, location, fuel information, and vehicle diagnostics, Fleet Sync helps automate fleet management processes and improves visibility across your Ryder-supported fleet.
- Remote Roadside Diagnostics: Enable Ryder agents to identify problems at breakdown and get your vehicle back into action.
- Minimize downtime: Enable Ryder shop with vehicle health insights to speed up diagnosis and minimize repair time
- Automated Odometer Reporting: Save time manually entering mileage for billing.
- Automated Defect Reporting: Simplify how drivers report eDVIR defects to Ryder and stay compliant.

Why Integrate eDVIR?
- Integration Flexibility: Ryder integrates with all leading eDVIR systems.
- Automated Defect Reporting: eDVIR integrates directly with Ryder's shop system, eliminating double entry of issues.
- Stay DOT Compliant: Repair dispositions are synced back to your eDVIR system to stay DOT compliant.
Step-by-Step Guide
Install the App
- Request the Fleet Sync App in Motive Marketplace and select Get This App. It will route you to the Motive dashboard.
- Select Install.

Get API Key
The Motive API support team will reach out to the admin of the account; they’ll need to confirm that they are subscribed to Fleet Sync and let them know that yes, you are subscribed. Once confirmation has been provided to the Motive API support team, they will create an API key, which can be found in the Fleet Admin Dashboard > Admin > Developers > API Access area of Motive’s platform labeled RyderConnect.
Configure eDVIR Integration (optional)
Below is an example of how you will need to adjust your API key from Motive to enable Ryder to read & write defect data. To grant Ryder access to the defect data for your fleet and enable the eDVIR integration, please check the box labeled “Test Mode” in the line item of your API key.
The eDVIR integration typically takes between 7 and 10 business days, and we will reach out to you to validate the asset data loaded in and submit a test defect.
